The tally of lives lost from the transport jet which ignited and crashed has risen to 13, as confirmed by recent statements.

Investigation Findings

National officials announced that the freight aircraft’s wing burst into flames and an power plant fell off soon after takeoff from the airfield, leading to the jet to crash and erupt into a fireball.

The National Transportation Safety Board stated it is examining the aircraft’s upkeep logs, that was in Texas for repairs weeks before the incident.

Flight tracking records indicated the jet was on the ground in San Antonio, Texas from the start of last month to mid-October.

“We are cognizant that this plane was present in the facility,” stated an official on later, without providing a specific period. “We will examine all elements of repairs that was done, including the Texas time, straight to the time of the flight.”

Retrieval of Key Components

The audio device and data recorder were recovered, and the power plant was found on the runway.

The devices – called flight recorders – were constructed to withstand collision damage and extreme temperatures from blazes, and they seemed to be in one piece when located within the wreckage. Officials plan on analyzing information from the devices.

Jet’s last flight details indicated an altitude of that level and a rate of 210 mph ahead of the accident.

Maintenance History

Per FAA files from that date, a fissure on a structural piece in the tank area demanded maintenance.

The company ST Engineering, which said it provides structural repairs for the carrier’s MD-11 and manages a repair facility in that city, chose not to comment, but expressed it would work closely when investigators reached out it.

Activities Resume

Meanwhile, the facility services continued Wednesday night with its express also known as nighttime operation, spokesperson a representative said. All three runways at the airport were likewise back in operation.

The distribution hub in this location is the company’s biggest. The facility hires more than a large number of people in the locality, manages numerous trips per day and sorts in excess of four hundred thousand items an hour.

Community Reaction

A memorial was conducted on the evening of 6 November by the regional Teamsters Union, which represents staff at the airfield, the firm’s primary air cargo hub.

The union chapter, which stands for staff, commenced the vigil with a moment of silence at that time, the approximate time of the incident before.

“This event was so sudden, so unforeseen,” the leader spoke to the assembly of 200. “No one had a chance to bid farewell to each of those who we have lost.”
